Occupational noise level measurements

It is the requirement of all workplaces to undertake occupational noise level measurements as provided under section 6 of The Factories and other places of work (noise prevention and control) rules ln 25, 2005. PPCL is committed to help business organizations comply  through provision of occupational noise and level measurements services. Our noise level assessors have in the past undertaken noise level measurement in a wide range of organizations ranging from manufacturing industries, agricultural farms, companies and business organizations . In undertaking this service, our team of experts use a highly precision noise level meter calibrated by KEBS.

This exercise assesses the noise management and control programs that are currently existing in preventing hearing loss. Such include but not limited to the following;

  • Noise elimination/substitution controls
  • Engineering controls
  • Noise level measurement of the workplace
  • Undertaking of the audiometric test to workers exposed to high noise levels
  • Posting of noise hazards notices and need to use protection in the high noise areas
  • Noise hazard awareness training
  • Issuance of hearing protection in the form of earplugs/earmuffs and lastly but not least
  • A review of the entire program in assessing the effectiveness in protecting workers from hearing loss
